I was given my first camera when I was 10 years old and I promptly began saving my allowance for film. Fast forward over 30 years and I am now well into the obsession/compulsion phase of my art.
I love to be outside photographing nature and the world I see around me. Whether it’s the grebes nesting in the pond down the street, the lady bugs that cluster on the neighbourhood boulevard trees in the fall, the bees in my garden or the landscapes spread out before me, I find it all fascinating. I also enjoy photographing old vehicles lovingly restored or those that are a little bit past their prime but still full of character. Abstract photography is one of my favourite photographic genres where I use many techniques including camera movement to create impressionist and expressionist images of nature, architecture, and people.
Much of what I shoot is within 100 kilometers of my home in Beaumont, Alberta.
