Intended as an introduction to botanical oil painting for artists who are interested in expanding their repertoire, this course will focus on form and color mixing. The course will be suitable for experienced beginners to intermediate painters.
Throughout 2 sessions, participants will follow through the step by step process of creating a colorful 6×8 inch oil painting of a strawberry plant. During the first session, participants will sketch the outline and block in all areas of the painting. In this session, we will focus on accurate form, blocking in large areas of color by looking at the overall highlights and lowlights of the composition.
The second session will be dedicated to adding the details while focusing on accurate color mixing. Here, the image will come to life with color and texture. Participants will take their finished painting home with them at the end of the second session along with a step by step printed guide of our process and a list of techniques used
