Claire Mittelstadt

Claire has retained a love of painting and sketching since childhood. Originally from rural, southern Manitoba, her love for land and animals influenced the types of pictures she painted then and now. Unfortunately, many years passed before she had the time to paint in earnest. Claire is self-taught but continues to improve her skills through various courses offered by the Artists’ Association of Beaumont, which she joined in the fall of 1998. Claire’s work has been displayed in the Leduc Gala the Johnson Gallery in Edmonton, the Gallery on Main in Lacombe, and other establishments around Alberta. Her art has sold as far away as Germany, Japan, Australia, and the United States. Claire uses acrylic, watercolor, colored pencil, and chalk pastel. She especially loves painting on slate in acrylic, a challenge she very much enjoys because each piece is unique.
