Sketchbook 101 with Andi Bauer

Sketchbook 101: Fall in Love with a Daily Practice

THIS CLASS IS FULL!

Rediscover your surroundings through drawing, and embrace the low-stakes nature of sketchbooks! This workshop spotlights sketchbooks as tools; helping artists to continually research, record, and problem solve. Emerging illustrator, Andi Bauer, will guide you through a variety of creative exercises, and engage your curiosity with the hidden charm of household objects. Over three hours, you will explore translating the every-day onto paper. Expect to dabble in DIY sketchbooks, get more comfortable drawing, and learn how to incorporate sketchbook-ing, authentically, in your daily life.

We will make small sketchbooks in class to house exercises, however, participants are encouraged to bring their own familiar sketchbooks. We want to meet you where you’re at in your unique creative practice! If you wish, bring old, filled sketchbooks too – it’ll be helpful to reflect on what’s worked for you in the past.

The workshop will be held at 10 am on Saturday, Feb 28, from 10 am to 1 pm. Workshop fee is $15 for members, and $20 for non-members. All necessary supplies will be provided, but feel free to bring your own favourite pencils, erasers, markers, pens, or crayons.
