I am a multi-disciplinary artist and art instructor. I initially graduated with a Visual Arts/Fibre Diploma from Grant MacEwan University in Edmonton and went on to study Tailoring Technology at NAIT. In mid-life I had the privilege of earning two distinctly different baccalaureate degrees; Fibre Art with Honors from the Alberta University of the Arts, and a Studio Arts Degree, Honors with Great Distinction from the University of Lethbridge.
Art-making has been my catalyst for wellness, personal growth, communication, and connection. It allows me to follow my curiosity, explore materials and techniques, engage with the community and articulate my ideas to others.
I am comfortable working in a variety of media; acrylic painting, collage, book and fibre arts, printmaking and encaustic painting. My choice of themes and materials is often guided by an initial concept. I travel incessantly between two provinces teaching workshops for various guilds and art associations and often take work which can travel easily with me.
